FILM REVIEW ‘Madhagaja’: Most of the Kannada movies are full of masala. Totally in the category of mass entertainer. This has been going on for a long time, so many times good stories are not seen, but recently Kannada film “Madagaja” has been released on Amazon Prime Video, which is a good masala film and also very reliable. Looks too. There is a different kind of joy in watching a film like this to take a break from the occasional intelligent films. Watch because like Mastane Hathi, this film also looks cool.

The story is very formulaic. The leader of a village is a good man Bhairav Durai (Jagapathi Babu) and he always raises his voice for the rights of his villagers. On the other hand, the leader of the other village is a goon, he always does the work of grabbing land, stopping water, fighting. Troubled by the bloody war going on between the two, Bhairav’s wife wants to keep her son away from all this and for this reason she hands him over to a fakir. This fakir takes him to Banaras and brings him up and gives a complete report to his mother once a year on the pretext of begging. Bhairav’s son grows up as Surya Madgaja (Srimurli) and works in Banaras to buy and sell controversial properties and hence washes goons. Fate takes him to his native village and slowly he comes to know about his past and he then fights on behalf of his father and destroys the goons, gets the villagers their rights and in the meantime He also falls in love with a girl. All is well that ends well.

The lead actor is Mr. Murali, who delivers a blistering action performance like a typical masala film hero. The story of the film is written by Shankar Raman, Suresh Arumugam, and Mahesh Vishwakarma and the dialogue is by M Chandramouli. The screenplay of the film is tight, leaving aside the issue of a few songs, the film moves in a straight line and continuously. The grammar of action and revenge film has been kept correct by not making any parallel track. For editing, the team of Vinod Kumar, K Harshvardhan and Arkesh Gowda has maintained the pace of the film and chief editor Harish Komme has not let any episode be missed. The story is very old, so something could have been added to its pace and action. The action has also been handled by a team of three people Ram Laxman, Ambrev and Arun Raj. Like most Kannada films, gravity mocking stunts have been kept, but it is not wrong to expect it in a spicy film.

This is the second film of director Mahesh Kumar and he has made a very good film. If the audience trusts the characters, then the director’s job becomes easier. Such a story in which there is nothing new, yet getting the artists to work so that they do not look strange, is a difficult task in itself. Mahesh has easily justified every exaggeration in the film.

Srimurli’s character in the story of the hero from a fictional village to the dome of Varanasi and then passing through the same eighty ghats and then returning to his roots, seems believable. Emotions that can make people cry have been kept under control so as not to deviate from the focus of the story. Jagapati Babu often becomes a villain, but this time his character is much better and considering his experience, he has worked hard in this. The character of Jagapati Babu is a bit different. In the role of Surya’s mother, Devyani has also done a decent job. In the film, useless dialogues, spicy songs, useless taali pitu action scenes have been avoided. There is only one song in Love Story. Ravi Basrur’s music is not only good, but a lot of hard work has also been done on the background score of the film.

There are two main attractions of the film, one is its run time which is only 130 minutes, due to which it is fun to watch. Second, the pair of Mr. Murali and Ashika is good, Jagapathi Babu and Devyani must have also impressed the audience in some scenes. And the best thing is the background score of the film. It is a perfect film for the lovers of watching masala films.
